The Area Controller of Nigeria Customs Service at Seme Command, Willy Egbudin, on Friday described the filthy environment from some banks operating in the area as unacceptable.

Egbudin made this know at the Customs and Community Relations meeting held at the customs conference room at Seme, near Badagry, Lagos.

The Seme Customs Command boss advised the banks to improve the situation to prevent outbreak of an epidemic.

“The environment of all the banks that operate here in Seme is in disgusting state and this isn’t good for everyone that works here.

“It becomes worse whenever it rains because the whole environment will be flooded and submerged in water, and people will not have access to the bank for weeks.

He said every organisation should learn how to keep its environs clean because hygiene plays an important role in keeping us healthy.

“I have received so many complaints from people about the state of the banks and I have spoken to the representatives of the banks, and they promise to look into it but nothing has been done.

“They should speed up action or at least make an interim solution in order to make the road accessible to the banks.”

Egbudin used the occasion to assured members of the community that the Customs Clinic is well equipped to take care of their medical needs.

“The clinic is well equipped and has all the facilities needed to take care of your medical needs, he reiterated.

“You should use the clinic frequently because it is also yours,” he explained.

According to the report, the meeting was well attended by representatives of commercial banks and various chiefs of different communities within Seme and Badagry axis.
