Portugal awaits Nigerian LNG Cargo

REN’s Sines LNG import terminal is scheduled to receive a cargo of liquefied natural gas from Nigeria next week.

According to the shipping data by the Port of Sines, the 2004-built LNG Akwa Ibom tanker with the capacity to transport 141,000 cbm of the chilled fuel is scheduled to arrive in Portugal on July 14.

The LNG Akwa Ibom was built at Hyundai Heavy Industries’s shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea.

NLNG’s Bonny Island facility has the capacity to produce 22 mtpa of liquefied natural gas from its six trains.

The Sines LNG terminal located on Portugal’s Atlantic coast in the industrial area of Sines port has a nominal sendout capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per hour (5.26 bcm per year), with a peak capacity of 900,000 cubic meters per hour.
