Ebubueogu Says Coming To NPA Public Affairs Dept Is Like Home Coming

Express confidence that i will succeed due to past knowledge of the workings with the media, as the Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Association of Master Mariners (NAMM) having served for eight years.
I am not a stranger to many of the maritime media practitioners as many are my friends.
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Public Affairs Department, new General Manager, Captain Iheanacho Ebubueogu, formally assumed duties last Friday after a brief handover ceremony from his predecessor, Chief Michael Ajayi.
The new General Manager, Ebubueogu, who was before Friday last week, the General Manager, Marine, was redeployed to the Public Affairs Department, while Ajayi was moved to the Administration Department in a shakeup that affected all General Managers in NPA and five Port Managers.
The new NPA spokesman assured all stakeholders of continuity in improvement on the public image and perception of the Authority and takes the Public Affairs Department to a new height.

Ebubueogu, acknowledging that Ajayi had raised the bar in NPA’s public relations; while assured that he will “leave the department better than I met it.”
In earlier statement, Ajayi revealed that he was posted to the NPA Public Affairs Department in 2010 to repair the image of the organisation, while praise himself for improvement of the department as at today.
He further said that with short time he was able to give a boost to the department, revive and repackage the NPA in-house journal along with new modern working tools including cameras, recorders, laptops and ipads for the staff.
On capacity building; Ajayi added that “We embarked on training and today every one of the department can write press releases unlike in the past, when only one person has capacity to write press releases”.
The outgoing NPA spokesman requested the support of journalists covering the maritime beat for his successor.
