658 Cartons of Frozen Products Destroyed by Western Marine Command

The western marine command of the Nigeria customs service few day to the Easter celebration destroyed 658 cartoons of frozen products.
The frozen products with duty paid value of #6,662,250 which according to the Staff Officer of the Command, Asst. Comptroller S.A Lawal were seized on two different raids, the first being 608 cartons seized at Afowo Water front at about 11.20pm on 13th of April while 50 cartons were seized at Harmony Jetty by 1.15am on 18th of April both along the Badagry creeks.
While destroying the products, the staff officer advised the smugglers to desist from the act and look for a more legitimate business to do as the command headed by Comptroller B.N Binga has  been equipped with well trained officers and men to combat any act of smuggling on the creeks.
 
The destruction, which took place at the commands’ incineration site was witnessed by representatives from the Nigeria Police, National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), State Security Service (SSS) and Journalists.
