Staffs in every organization are the most important assets.

Access Bank Plc has organised a forum for human resources executives and workers in various organisation in the country.

The forum was aimed at set standard for sustainable business practices that would enable employees unleash their talents for higher productivity in their organisations.

Speaking at the business forum tagged: ‘Optimising Employee Engagement,’ the Executive Director, Personal Banking Division, Mr. Victor Etuokwu, said the event was part of Access Bank management’s effort to equip employees and build capacity in order to make them more productive for the growth of their companies.

Etuokwu, reiterated that the collaboration with the human resources executives was because human resource managers were critical to the success of any organisation, adding that people are the most important assets.

He said human resources managers support a variety of benefits, welfare programmes, or financial support systems that helps to motivate and inspire employees.
The ED noted that Access Bank was positioned to deliver superior value to customers; seek total partnership through its value-chain management model and via its various products support and empower employees of other organisations, which would result to higher returns to their shareholders adding that Bank has a lot of products to meet the banking needs of workers in the country.

Etuokwu further pointed out the bank offers flexible personal loans that could help meet pressing needs, for purchase, improvement and construction of residential homes.

Also speaking at the business forum was the Senior Manager, Nigeria, West and Central Africa for Microsoft, Mrs. Ayodeji Ajibola, said when employees are highly engaged, organisations enjoy high level of productivity.

However, Mrs. Ajibola urged the human resources executives to foster sound investment, develop compelling business cases, consider unintended consequences and create engagement culture for the benefit and growth of the stakeholders.

She however called for the review of some labour laws which she noted was not favourable to workers. A highly-engaged employee would be loyal and productive; knowing what to do to help the organisation succeed, Ajibola concluded.
