Aduvie Pre-University College has now been approved by the -Ontario Ministry of Education, Canada, to run the Ontario Secondary School Diploma in Nigeria in Partnership with Bronston Canadian Academy, Ontario.
OSSD -Ontario Secondary School Diploma: The OSSD is the secondary school graduation diploma required to gain admission into universities in Canada. It is also accepted worldwide as a university entry requirement.

In order to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), a student must earn a minimum of 30 credits, including 18 compulsory credits and 12 optional credits. Students must also complete 40 hours of community involvement activities and must pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, or successfully complete the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLC).

According to Mr. Olusoji Abiodun, Head of Schoool, Aduvie International School, the benefits of this Partnership includes “Our Pre-University students get an Ontario Student Number (OSN), which is Canadian Student Trademark. The classes, assessment (OSSLT) and community involvement work would be done here at Aduvie under the supervision of Ontario Education Quality and Accountability Office, which will save parents from the foreign exchange cost of sending their wards to Canada.

“Students who undergo this program are eligible to scholarship not less than 4000 Canadian Dollars (CAD$) in any Canadian University due to the standard of the programme. Student’s WAEC/NECO/IGCSE result or faculty does not matter as Ontario Diploma allows students move from non-science courses to science courses and vice versa; and also overrides O’Level result.

Olusoji said students get accustomed to Canadian Higher Education style of learning which is different from the UK/Nigeria style thus when they move to Canada, the academic transition is seamless, adding that this program also takes care of the whole process of securing the child’s admission and providing career services.

He said it is more valid for applying for study permit compared to WAEC and IELTS documentation; and so many other benefits and Students who undergo the programme will have the privilege of being tutored by both Nigerian and Canadian Teachers.

“Duration of the program is 12 months for non science students and 18 months for science students. It would also interest you to know that we are the most affordable Pre-University in the world offering this program presently, as we have compared our tuition to institutions in Ghana, UK, Canada and the rest” he said.

The Tuition covers the following:Tuition, Resources, Notebooks, Soft Copy of Textbooks, OSSLT Assessment, Admission Processing, Feeding, Business & Leadership Camping Programme, Community Involvement Supervisory and Research Project Supervision.L-R,  Deputy Head Academics, Aduvie International School Mr Folaponle Olufemi, Trade Commissioner, Canadian High Commission  Mrs Alexir Jablonski, Head of School Aduvie International College Mr Abiodun Olujimi and Head Aduvie Pre-University College Abuja Mr Ituen Alfred during Edu-Canada Fair in Abuja yesterday
