Issam Darwish is the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of IHS Group. He co-founded IHS in 2001 and led the company to be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2009 and was instrumental in raising a further $250 million in 2011.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has sanctioned three; MTN Nigeria, Globacom and Airtel, the major network operators in the country with the sum of N647.5 million for breach of key performance indicators (KPIs) and poor quality of service for the month of January 2014. It however gave Etisalat a clean bill as it met all the set KPIs.
According to him: “Our victory was by divine providence and we are grateful to NCC for its integrity, transparency, and observation of fair rules in the bidding process and for promoting a healthy communication industry, While thank Globacom as our big brother in the industry for giving us a chance and supporting the growth of younger players in the industry.”
The Management of Nigerian Communications Commission NCC has come up with a new strategy as part of the mission to achieve global economic competiveness at the consultative forum on ‘Open Access Model’ held recently.
The NCC has joined other industry regulatory bodies in an effort to remove unapproved telecommunications equipment
