The Executive Vice Chairman who made remarks at the day one of two day events was represented by the Director, Public Affairs; mr Tony Ojobo of the Commission, disclosed that by way of observation, we have noticed that most journalists covering the telecommunications industry basically report news and developments. We hardly see lots of informed analysis designed to create a deeper understanding of issues among the stakeholders adding that sometimes when issues arise in the industry, what we see in the media are comments or opinions by individuals and public commentators who are not well informed about the industry.

An expert in microwave networking solutions, Aviat Networks has announced an expanded managed services agreement with MTN Nigeria. Microwave networking solution will manage the flow of material into Aviat-controlled facilities on behalf of MTN Nigeria. The material will be managed, marshaled and kitted in support of specific customer implementations that have been jointly planned between MTN Nigeria and Aviat Networks.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has sanctioned three; MTN Nigeria, Globacom and Airtel, the major network operators in the country with the sum of N647.5 million for breach of key performance indicators (KPIs) and poor quality of service for the month of January 2014.
