The president stated this when he led his team to visit the governor at his private residence, FCT, Abuja.
He explained that the visit was to discuss ways for the government to set in motion modalities to start the implementation of the earlier signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to construct hydro and coal fire powered projects for the state.
Dongsheng, who stated that the meeting was a follow-up to their agreement during the just concluded Kogi investment summit, requested the governor to set up the team before the arrival of the PowerChina’s technical team to the state.
He also urged the governor to quickly designate the two projects sites to avoid confusion when the full team of the technical team will arrive the state in two weeks’ time.
He explained that the project which comprises a 2,400MW coal-fired power generating plant and a 600MW hydro-power plants is to be sited in kogi.
Responding, Governor Yahaya Bello assured the investors of adequate security for their investment, stressing that his government has made security its priority.
He revealed that he has already set up the technical team even as the proposed project sites have already been identified by the relevant government agencies.
Bello urged the leader of the delegation to promptly commence the construction of the projects without delay so as to solve the problems of epileptic power supply facing the state.
Promising to give requisite assistance to aid speedy completion of the work, the Governor urged the investors to use high quality materials that will conform to international best standards for the projects.
