SCIB gets LCCI’s insurance brokerage award

SCIB Nigeria & Company Limited has been recognised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the Insurance Broker of the Year at the 2018 Commerce and Industry Awards, organised recently in Lagos.

The LCCI noted that the SCIB’s capacity, capability and competence remained unparalleled in the Nigerian insurance broking market, and that this had endeared to it multinationals and key strategic clients.

It stated, “SCIB pioneered notable industry milestones including the Service Level Agreement with key focus on improving the service level standard in the insurance industry as well as packaged policies including Industrial All Risks policy and combined group personal accident.”

The Executive Director, SCIB, Solanke Ogunlana, said, “We feel honoured to have been recognised out of about 500 insurance brokers in the country. This recognition will impact positively on us and motivate us as an organisation to continue to do better.”

The President, LCCI, Mr. Babatunde Ruwase, said that as part of its core mandate of the trade promotion and business advocacy, the chamber would always recognise deserving corporate organisations, public institutions and individuals contributing significantly to the development of commerce and industry on an annual basis.

Over the years, he explained, the LCCI awards had emerged as credible, competitive and inclusive award in the Nigerian private sector.

According to him, the metrics for selecting the awardees include positive impact on the society such as affecting society broadly, challenging the status quo, redefining life style, creating wealth and vitality and giving people increased confidence.

He said it also considered best practices such as compliance with set standards, regulations, level of disclosure and corporate governance.

The metrics, he added, involve growth through innovation such as enhanced product and services through innovation for increased value and facilitate limitless possibilities.

Others, according to him, are service excellence and customer delight, business sustainability and creation of positive legacies.
