Seme Customs Command Impounds Poultry Products worth N6.3M

Seme Command of the Nigeria Customs Service NCS,Area Comptroller, Mr Willy Egbudin, last weekend, said that the command had seized 700 cartons of prohibited poultry products valued at N6.3 million.
Egbudin disclosed this to newsmen at command base in Badagry, Lagos State while disclosing the content of the seizure products includes chicken, turkey, gizzard and sausage rolls.
The comptroller further revealed that the poultry products were concealed at the basement of a truck.
He stated how they were able to seize the goods “We were able to seize the illegal goods by deploying ourselves to strategic points and also working on intelligence reports from the security agencies”.
The seizures were made at Mowo, while the truck was in transit as the illegal products were concealed in the basement of a truck and furniture was used in covering it,Egbudin said.

He however disclosed that no suspect was arrested during the operation added that the command would not tolerate any form of smuggling and would arrest those who try to violate the law through the importation of contraband.
The Comptroller said that the products would be destroyed because they are perishable, urging Nigerians not to invest in wasteful ventures
