Taiwo Afolabi takes SIFAX Group through Sponsors Youth Entrepreneurship across the country

In a strategy step to brand the company with his name, the SIFAX Group, a multinational company with interests in Aviation, Maritime, Haulage & Logistics, Oil & Gas and Hospitality gas planned gives back to the society through a programe taged “the youth entrepreneurship and business reality TV show”

 

Yhe programme according to the SIFAX Group’s image-maker, Muyiwa Akande also indicated in Lagos that management took the decision to bankroll the television programme, so as to have more effectively impact on young Nigerians, particularly those with brilliant business ideas and entrepreneurship spirit.

 

“Every serious corporate organization should be a part of helping youths found their feet in bringing their business ideas to life. The rate at which young people are entering the job market on an annual basis is far higher than jobs that are created, both by the private and the public sectors. The situation is scary”, Akande, the Corporate Affairs Manager stated, during the official kick off of the Season 4, noting the urgent need to reduce unemployment rate, by encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship among Nigerian youths.

Akande further pointed out that the programme, which is presently in its fourth season, is a platform for young and creative entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges, made up of distinguished and successful business owners; where the grand prize winner would go home with a car and N5 million.

 

“We must begin to encourage entrepreneurship among our young people, even before they leave school. Their mindset must be reprogrammed to the reality that job opportunities are shrinking by the day and the way to go is to activate their ideas, run their own businesses and become job creators as well. That’s why SIFAX Group is supporting the show annually”, he stated further.

On his own part,  Mide Kunle-Akinlaja, Executive Producer of the show, explained thus: “The importance of THE NEXT TITAN lies in igniting entrepreneurial spirit, and showcasing the possibility of entrepreneurship in transforming lives with just an idea that can be scaled to greatness with a market and with Nigeria’s population.

 

“The Show, by scouting for young talented people who have entrepreneurial acumens, grooming them through a rigorous task and boardroom process and eventually funding a winner’s idea, leading to an opportunity to create jobs for themselves and others, is indeed a big contributor to the socio-economic development of Nigeria.”

 

Auditions for the show will hold in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Enugu.

 

Amehnews recalled that just recently  over 150 traders at the popular Gbagi market in Ibadan have enjoyed free medical and dental care at the community health outreach sponsored by SIFAX Group in the state.

 

The programme tagged “Taiwo Afolabi Community Dental Outreach” in collaboration with the University of Ibadan Association of Dental Students, to delivers a free medical mission targeted at rural communities in Oyo State.

 

Some of the free services enjoyed by the beneficiaries include blood sugar level test, blood pressure test, body mass index test, dental check-up and treatment. Others include free toothpaste and toothbrushes were also distributed. While medical personnel deployed for the event include doctors and medical students from the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

 

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Group Executive Vice Chairman, SIFAX Group, who was represented by Olumuyiwa Akande, Corporate Affairs Manager, said the sponsorship of the programme was part of the humanitarian gestures of the company, adding that SIFAX Group believes that healthy citizens translate to a healthy nation.Also, speaking on the need for good oral hygiene,  Ayinuowo Adewale, President, University of Ibadan Dental Student Association, enjoined the traders to take the issue of their health seriously, particularly, their teeth. He noted that the use of fluoride toothpaste and medium-texture toothbrush would help them in maintaining a healthy oral hygiene.

 

He further lauded the SIFAX Group and Dr. Taiwo Afolabi for the support that made the programme a reality while enjoin other corporate organizations to emulate the company by partnering with it to take the rural health mission to other communities.
