NiMet DG Prof. Charles Anosike Marks One Year in Office, Reflects on Achievements and Future Goals

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike, marked his one-year anniversary in office on Monday, December 16, 2024. The milestone was commemorated with a strategic and performance review meeting involving NiMet’s directors, senior management team, and representatives of the agency’s labor unions.

During the session, the directors of NiMet’s nine directorates provided detailed presentations on their respective achievements over the past year. Additionally, the office of the Director General delivered an overarching summary of the progress made under Prof. Anosike’s leadership.

In his address, Prof. Anosike expressed gratitude to the management team, directors, and staff for their commitment and support in advancing NiMet’s mission. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration, particularly with labor unions, in achieving the agency’s objectives.

“I want to highlight the importance of collective bargaining with the unions,” Prof. Anosike stated. “I am committed to driving the mission of our agency, and together, we can achieve even greater milestones.”

He also underscored the value of evaluating performance and learning from challenges. “Failure is not a problem; it is an opportunity to learn. Failure and success go hand in hand. Collectively, we will achieve even more in the coming years,” he said.
