The Greenwich Group, a pioneering financial solutions provider in Nigeria, is celebrating three decades of delivering innovative and adaptable financial services to meet the evolving needs of its stakeholders. The company’s journey, which started as Greenwich Trust Ltd, has seen it grow from a financial advisor and issuing house into one of Nigeria’s most prominent merchant banks. Following its approval in principle from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in March 2024, Greenwich Merchant Bank is now the most capitalized merchant bank in the country, boasting an asset base of N146 billion as of June 30, 2024.
To mark this milestone, Greenwich Group hosted a prestigious anniversary dinner at the Grand Ballroom of the Oriental Hotel, Lagos. The event, attended by key stakeholders, loyal clients, and dignitaries, was a celebration of the company’s growth and success over the years. It also honored 45 staff members for their contributions to the organization’s achievements. A standout moment was the posthumous award presented to the late (Sir) Remi Omotosho for his leadership, with a cash prize of N50 million. .In his welcome speech, Kayode Falowo, Chairman of Greenwich Group, expressed gratitude for the institution’s successes, underscoring the importance of the event as a token of appreciation to its clients and staff. He also highlighted the company’s exciting future, with plans to expand into new business sectors, including insurance, pension fund administration (PFA), and fintech, now that it has received approval to operate as a holding company.
Falowo reflected on the enduring legacy of Sir Remi Omotosho, whose principles of good governance, integrity, and professionalism continue to influence the company’s operations. He also acknowledged Mrs. Shettem for embodying the core values of the institution: integrity, efficiency, innovation, loyalty, and transparency.
The event featured a keynote speech by Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, who praised Falowo for his leadership and the remarkable success Greenwich has achieved under his guidance. He commended Falowo’s commitment to good governance and expressed confidence that the group’s future holds even greater success.
In his vote of thanks, Benson Ogundeji, Managing Director of Greenwich Merchant Bank, acknowledged the unwavering support from stakeholders, customers, and shareholders. He emphasized that the group’s past achievements would not have been possible without the vision and leadership of Kayode Falowo, as well as the dedication of its employees.
