Air Peace Limited, the largest airline in West and Central Africa, has once again raised the bar for safety and operational excellence, securing its sixth consecutive International Air Transport Association Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Certification. This remarkable milestone cements Air Peace’s position as a leader in the African aviation industry, showcasing its commitment to global safety standards and continuous improvement.

Since joining the IOSA registry in 2016, just two years after commencing operations, Air Peace has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to meeting and exceeding the stringent safety requirements set by IATA. Reflecting on this achievement during the presentation ceremony at the airline’s corporate headquarters in Lagos, Engineer Patrick Achurefe, Head of Quality at Air Peace, expressed gratitude to the airline’s Chairman, Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, for his steadfast support.

“We are grateful to our chairman for believing in our capabilities and supporting the meticulous efforts required for this achievement,” Achurefe said. He added that this certification underscores the expertise and dedication of the entire team at Air Peace.

Dr. Samson Fatokun, IATA’s Area Manager for West and Central Africa, lauded Air Peace for its exceptional accomplishments within a decade of operations. “Air Peace’s presence on the IOSA registry is a testament to its unwavering dedication to safety, operational excellence, and professionalism. This milestone is not just a victory for the airline but a pride for Nigeria,” Fatokun stated.

Accepting the certificate, Dr. Onyema emphasized the significance of the milestone, highlighting the airline’s commitment to fostering a safety-first culture. “This sixth IOSA certification is a testament to our hard work and dedication to maintaining global safety standards. It provides our passengers with confidence that their safety remains our top priority,” he said.

Dr. Onyema also commended Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Hon. Festus Keyamo, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their transformative policies in the aviation sector. He cited the recent signing of the Cape Town Convention as a progressive step toward reducing operational costs for local airlines and enhancing competitiveness.

Key dignitaries at the event included Air Peace executives such as Captain Augustin Kamano, Captain Gerald Udaya, and Captain Godfrey Ogbogu, along with IATA representatives.

This sixth IOSA certification sets a new benchmark for safety in African aviation and inspires other airlines across the continent to strive for similar excellence. By consistently meeting international safety standards, Air Peace reinforces its reputation as a trusted airline for millions of passengers, a source of pride for Nigeria, and a beacon of progress in African aviation.

As Air Peace continues to lead the charge in operational safety and excellence, it exemplifies what is possible when ambition meets dedication, inspiring a brighter future for the aviation sector across Africa.
