The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has lauded its Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, for receiving the Young Global Leader Award from THISDAY Newspaper during its 30th-anniversary celebration on January 27, 2025, in Lagos.
Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, NASENI’s Director of Information, highlighted that the award acknowledges Halilu’s transformative leadership and visionary contributions to Nigeria’s technology and manufacturing sectors, as well as his dedication to sustainable development through innovation.
Since assuming leadership in 2023, Halilu has initiated groundbreaking projects that have positioned NASENI as a pivotal force in Nigeria’s industrial revolution. Under his guidance, the agency has developed 35 market-ready products for Nigerians and finalized agreements on 44 projects with partners, all set for launch or commissioning.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Halilu dedicated the award to the entire NASENI team. “This honor reflects the collective efforts of the NASENI family in advancing innovation and ensuring Nigeria remains at the forefront of technology and engineering infrastructure. It motivates us to work even harder toward creating solutions that empower industries and communities,” he stated.
The Young Global Leader Award underscores Halilu’s visionary leadership, under which NASENI has implemented numerous landmark projects, including the development of sustainable green technologies, the establishment of world-class manufacturing facilities, and strategic collaborations with local and international partners to boost Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
