The committee’s efforts are expected to lead to greater insurance awareness and stricter enforcement.

As part of the inauguration, Mr. Gam-Ikon directed the committee to utilize key resources, including the Insurance Act 2003, the Inspector General’s speech on Third-Party Motor Insurance enforcement, and a list of licensed insurance companies authorized to conduct motor business. Vehicle owners can also verify their motor insurance policies using NAICOM’s USSD service (*7292#), or visit www.askiid.org and www.niip.ng for purchasing and verifying valid insurance certificates.

With the formation of this committee, NAICOM and the NPF are set to make significant strides in promoting insurance compliance in Nigeria, ensuring that the country’s roads are safer for everyone.
