At SAIPEC 2025, Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) reinforced its commitment to shaping Africa’s energy future, presenting groundbreaking innovations that redefine efficiency and sustainability in gas monetization.
Reflecting on past energy transitions, NLNG’s General Manager, Production Division, Nnamdi Anowi, recalled how the narrative around gas has evolved. Previously seen as a bridge fuel, gas has now emerged as a destination fuel—an indispensable pillar for Africa’s sustainable energy roadmap.
This paradigm shift has been propelled by technological ingenuity. Years ago, facility design processes were cumbersome, stretching over six months. Today, leveraging artificial intelligence, NLNG has cut these timelines to under 30 days. The company’s pioneering adoption of AOGV (Add-On Gate Valve) technology—an industry-first in Africa—has saved over $300 million, proving that innovation is not just a choice but a necessity.
Nnamdi’s call to action was clear: Africa’s energy future hinges on collaboration. He urged industry partners to seize the vast opportunities in gas monetization, transforming resources into long-term prosperity. As the operator of the world’s second-largest single-site LNG plant, NLNG remains at the forefront of operational excellence, setting new industry benchmarks.
Looking ahead, NLNG’s vision is resolute—gas is here to stay, and the company is leading the charge in positioning Africa as a global energy powerhouse.
