The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) has warmly welcomed the appointment of Dr. Ismaila Danjuma Adamu, PhD, as its substantive Rector and Chief Executive, an appointment that underscores President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to placing the right leaders in key positions. The Acting Rector, Mr. Joseph Imalighwe, along with the entire NCAT staff, expressed profound gratitude to the President, acknowledging that Dr. Adamu’s appointment aligns perfectly with the institution’s vision for excellence in aviation training.
Dr. Adamu’s distinguished career and academic pedigree make him a perfect fit for this role. A consummate academician and accomplished administrator, he holds a B.Sc and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, as well as a PhD from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom. His doctoral research, titled “The Impact of International Air Transport Liberalization: The Case for Nigeria,” reflects his deep understanding of the aviation sector’s evolving dynamics.
His pursuit of excellence has seen him undergo extensive training in civil aviation management and operations, attending notable international aviation conferences, seminars, and specialized courses, including Air Transport Marketing at Westminster, the ICAO Trainair Plus Competency Course at EASA Kenya, and the ICAO Basic AVSEC Course in Bahrain.
Before his appointment, Dr. Adamu was an esteemed Aviation Management Resource person at NCAT, where he dedicated his expertise to training future aviation professionals. His vast knowledge spans both the air and land transport sectors, equipping him with the strategic insights needed to lead NCAT into a new era of growth and global relevance.
Reflecting on his journey, Dr. Jude Amadi, NCAT’s Director of Information, noted that Dr. Adamu has invested significant time and resources in preparing himself for this national assignment.
