Raiding on the success of the Lagos Marriott Hotel, MacFolly Hospitality Limited, the hospitality subsidiary of SIFAX Group, is set to elevate Lagos’ luxury hospitality landscape with the launch of a 100-room Courtyard by Marriott at GRA Ikeja.
This strategic expansion underscores MacFolly’s commitment to world-class hospitality, positioning Lagos as a premier destination for business and leisure travelers. The new Courtyard by Marriott, set for completion in 24 months, will be located adjacent to the Lagos Marriott Hotel and will feature state-of-the-art facilities, expanded meeting spaces, and modern amenities tailored for both local and international guests.
The groundbreaking ceremony attracted industry leaders, including Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Chairman of SIFAX Group, his wife Mrs. Folashade Afolabi, Johan Cronje, Regional Vice President of Marriott International for Sub-Saharan Africa, and Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Rasheed Akanbi, Telu 1.
Reflecting on the journey, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi emphasized the rising demand for premium hospitality services in Lagos.
“Four years ago, we introduced the Lagos Marriott Hotel, and the response has been overwhelming. We have exceeded our expectations in patronage, and this growing demand affirms our decision to expand. The new Courtyard by Marriott will further reinforce our dedication to delivering unparalleled hospitality in Lagos,” he said.
MacFolly Hospitality’s Managing Director, Mr. Chike Ogeah, highlighted the broader economic impact of the project.
“This isn’t just another hotel; it’s an investment in Nigeria’s economy. We are creating jobs, boosting tourism, and ensuring Nigeria remains an attractive destination for global travelers. Our goal is to build a hospitality experience that Nigerians can take pride in.”
The ceremony concluded with a symbolic shovel-turning by key stakeholders, officially marking the beginning of construction. As Lagos continues to evolve as a hub for luxury hospitality, MacFolly Hospitality’s bold move with the Courtyard by Marriott reaffirms its leadership in redefining world-class lodging in Nigeria.
