In a remarkable recognition of excellence and leadership in Nigeria’s aviation sector, The Air Transport Quarterly (ATQ) Magazine has bestowed the prestigious Regional Manager of the Year 2024 award on Barrister Oluwabukola Aduragbemi Teriba, the Regional Manager of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Lagos.

The award, presented at a distinguished event in Lagos, celebrates Teriba’s outstanding contributions to aviation regulation, safety, and industry development. Her strategic leadership, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment have solidified her status as a key figure in the aviation sector.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Adeola Fadairo, Chairman of the occasion, commended Teriba’s significant impact on the industry, stating:
“Her dedication to excellence has greatly influenced the advancement of aviation in Nigeria. She has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, setting high standards in regulatory oversight and industry collaboration.”

Mr. Supo Atobatele, organizer of the fourth edition of the awards, lauded Teriba’s relentless efforts in upholding safety, security, and sustainability in aviation, emphasizing that her work ethic and professionalism have earned her widespread respect among industry stakeholders.

As the Regional Manager of NCAA Lagos, Teriba plays a pivotal role in overseeing the regulation and supervision of aviation activities in the South West region, ensuring full compliance with national and international safety standards.

A Humble Acknowledgment

Expressing her heartfelt gratitude, a visibly humbled Barrister Teriba dedicated the award to God and to the Director General of NCAA, Captain Chris Ona Najomo, whom she fondly referred to as “Jolly Papa”, in appreciation of his visionary leadership.

“I feel truly honored and humbled by this recognition. I dedicate this award to God, to DGCA Captain Chris Najomo, Jolly Papa, and his incredible management team. My sincere appreciation also goes to my hardworking colleagues at the regional office—this is a collective achievement,” she stated.

The atmosphere was further electrified as enthusiastic NCAA staff in attendance cheered and chanted the popular slogan:
“Lagos is working, Lagos in Action!”
