The Queens Palm Support Initiative recently hosted a dynamic leadership and communication masterclass, empowering women with essential skills to navigate personal and professional spaces with confidence and impact.
The event, held in Lagos, brought together accomplished industry leaders who shared invaluable insights on leadership, corporate survival, and public speaking. The initiative reaffirmed its commitment to fostering inclusive learning opportunities that equip women with the tools needed for career excellence and personal growth.
Strategic Leadership and Intentional Growth
In her opening remarks, Sabrina Ozma, Convener of the Queens Palm Support Initiative, emphasized the importance of cultivating an intentional leadership mindset. She highlighted essential leadership traits such as courage, resilience, adaptability, strategic vision, and effective communication, stressing that true leaders are those who continue to learn and evolve.
“At the Queens Palm Support Initiative, we are dedicated to nurturing a new generation of confident, purpose-driven female leaders through mentorship and skill-building programs,” Ozma affirmed.
Thriving in the Corporate World and Work-Life Balance
Renowned journalist and media entrepreneur, Kadaria Ahmed, addressed the challenges of balancing corporate success with personal well-being. She stressed that maintaining a clear boundary between work and personal life is key to long-term success.
“Navigating the corporate world requires resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to prioritize what truly matters—both professionally and personally,” Ahmed stated.
Mastering Communication for Influence and Impact
Media personality Gloria Babarinde delivered a compelling session on the power of communication, noting that effective communication is not about perfection but presence and influence. She emphasized the importance of commanding attention through eye contact, vocal modulation, and body language—key elements that enhance confidence in public speaking and leadership.
“Your ability to communicate effectively is your superpower in any industry. It shapes perceptions, builds trust, and positions you as a leader,” Babarinde advised.
A Transformative Experience for Participants
Among the attendees was Deborah Igbinedion, a first-class graduate from the University of Lagos, who described the masterclass as a life-changing experience.
“This session was both inspiring and thought-provoking, pushing me to reflect on my leadership potential. The facilitators created an empowering environment where we could share our experiences and grow together. I am leaving here with a renewed sense of purpose and determination,” she shared.
The Queens Palm Support Initiative continues to drive bold leadership, strategic decision-making, and skill enhancement for women striving to make a lasting impact in their careers and communities.
