SIFAX Group reaffirmed its commitment to gender inclusion and leadership development with a dynamic International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025 event, themed “Beyond Glass Ceilings: Breaking Boundaries, Redefining Success.”
Held at the Lagos Marriott Hotel, the gathering brought together senior executives, industry professionals, and thought leaders to address the systemic barriers hindering women’s progress in corporate leadership.
Empowering Women to Lead
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. (Mrs.) Ajoritsedere Awosika, OON, MFR, mni, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic and former Chairman of Access Bank PLC, challenged women to take control of their leadership journeys.
“Success is not handed out—it is earned,” she emphasized, urging women to position themselves for opportunities, embrace self-development, and adapt to evolving business landscapes. She called on organizations to move beyond token representation and implement lasting structural changes that empower women.
SIFAX Group’s Commitment to Gender Equity
SIFAX Group used the platform to highlight its tangible steps toward gender inclusion. Mrs. Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, Group Coordinating Director, emphasized that women are at the helm of some of the company’s most successful subsidiaries, demonstrating that inclusion is a business driver, not just a corporate statement.
“At SIFAX Group, we don’t just advocate for gender inclusion—we live it. We are intentional about giving women opportunities to lead, and the results speak for themselves,” she said.
Reinforcing this commitment, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Chairman of SIFAX Group, stressed that gender diversity is not a symbolic effort but a strategic necessity.
“Women bring immense value to leadership and decision-making. Our priority is talent—not gender,” he affirmed.
Breaking Barriers in Male-Dominated Sectors
A panel discussion featuring senior female executives from SIFAX Group examined the realities of navigating male-dominated industries. The discussion underscored the importance of mentorship, continuous learning, and proactive policies in fostering gender equity.
SIFAX Group’s broader agenda includes leadership development programs, mentorship initiatives, and structured pathways for women’s advancement across its subsidiaries.
A Call to Action
As the event concluded, one resounding message stood out: Women must not only demand a seat at the table—they must be ready to lead when they get there.
Attendees left inspired, empowered to challenge stereotypes, refine their leadership skills, and break boundaries in their respective fields. Through deliberate action and structural change, SIFAX Group is setting a benchmark for corporate gender inclusion—one that goes beyond rhetoric and delivers real impact.
