Fidelity Bank Plc has reinforced its dedication to financial inclusion, youth empowerment, and fostering a strong savings culture by awarding nine National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members with business grants of N500,000 each, totaling N4.5 million.
The grants were disbursed under the bank’s flagship savings campaign, Get Alert in Millions Season Six (GAIM 6)—a nationwide initiative aimed at rewarding customer loyalty with N159 million in cash prizes. The promo, which runs from November 2024 to August 2025, targets various customer segments, including NYSC members, students, women, and traders.
According to Mr. Osita Ede, Divisional Head of Product Development at Fidelity Bank, GAIM 6 was designed to enhance financial access and provide tangible rewards for loyal customers.
“When we launched GAIM 6 in November 2024, we made it clear that this campaign would promote inclusivity. To achieve this, we increased the total prize money to N159 million and introduced additional draws tailored to different customer categories.
“Beyond the usual weekly and monthly draws, we now have specific draws for NYSC members, students, women, and traders, ensuring a broader reach. These segments will also be eligible for the grand prize at the campaign’s conclusion on August 20, 2025.”
The nine NYSC winners were selected through a random electronic draw from Fidelity Bank branches nationwide. They include:
- Oluwatosin Emmanuel Olowolayemo (Uyo 2 Branch)
- Ekpeno Aniekan George (Uyo 2 Branch)
- Derryk Chidubem Okafor (Trans-Ekulu Branch)
- Aliyu Idris Adamu (Tudun-Wada Kaduna Branch)
- Bomane-Aziba Koromo (Nanka Close, Wuse Branch)
- Asabe Grace Adamu (University of Maiduguri Branch)
- David Agbai Agwu (Oshogbo Branch)
- Abdullahi Opeyemi Olajuwon (Airport Road, Lagos Branch)
- Eghosa George Orhue (Ado Ekiti Branch)
Expressing his gratitude, Chidubem Okafor, one of the grant recipients, said he was initially skeptical about the initiative but is now excited to use the funds to build his business.
“At first, I thought it was a scam when they introduced it at our orientation camp. But today, I am truly honored to receive this support from Fidelity Bank. This grant will help me achieve my entrepreneurial dreams, and I promise to make the most of it.”
Another winner, David Agbai Agwu, shared his disbelief at winning, stating that the grant will be a stepping stone toward financial independence.
“When I received the call, I thought it was a prank. I never applied for anything, so I was shocked. But when they sent me proof, I realized it was real. I am truly grateful for this opportunity. My plan is to invest in vocational training and digital skills, particularly in fashion and painting, to establish a sustainable business.”
Beyond the N500,000 grant, all winners will receive free business advisory and training at the Fidelity SME Hub, located at 22, Lanre Awolokun Street, Gbagada Phase 2, Lagos.
