As the world celebrates International Women’s Day (IWD), Moniepoint Inc., Africa’s fastest-growing financial institution, is expanding its commitment to bridging the gender gap in technology. In its fifth year, the Moniepoint Women in Tech initiative will now accommodate 15 interns, up from 10 in previous editions, reinforcing its dedication to empowering women in the digital finance sector.
This expansion aligns with the 2025 IWD theme, “Accelerate Action,” which calls for urgent steps toward gender equality. The initiative not only addresses the underrepresentation of women in Nigeria’s tech sector—where they make up just 25% of the workforce despite comprising nearly half of the population—but also fosters career development through mentorship, hands-on experience, and access to cutting-edge projects.
The selected “Dream 15” interns will engage in a six-month program, gaining expertise in Cloud Engineering, Backend Engineering, Technical Product Management, Data Engineering, Systems Administration, Technical Support, and User Experience. Participants will receive direct mentorship, work tools, branded merchandise, a salary, and an opportunity for full-time employment based on performance.

Chinaza Nduka-Dike, Vice President of People Operations at Moniepoint Inc., emphasized the company’s vision:
“With the Women in Tech initiative, we are not just inspiring inclusion—we are creating sustainable career pathways for women in technology. Diversity fuels innovation, and we are proud to equip women with the skills and opportunities they need to lead in this industry.”
Reflecting on the impact of the program, Daniela Uzosike, a Systems Administrator from the third cohort, shared:
“Moniepoint transformed my career and validated the role of women in technology. I’m thrilled to see even more women join this initiative and contribute to shaping Africa’s digital future.”
Moniepoint’s Women in Tech program has consistently been a catalyst for change, empowering women and reshaping the tech landscape in Africa. The 2025 cohort is open to aspiring female tech professionals across the continent. Interested applicants can explore opportunities and apply via Women in Tech website.
