The Nigerian Navy’s Western Naval Command has reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing security along Nigeria’s coastline and maritime spaces through a strengthened partnership with SIFAX Group. This commitment was underscored during a courtesy visit by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Rear Admiral Michael Gregory Oamen, to SIFAX Group’s management.
Rear Admiral Oamen expressed deep appreciation for the consistent support provided by SIFAX Group, acknowledging its crucial role in the Navy’s operations. “We have a constitutional mandate to secure our maritime domain for both economic activities and national security,” he emphasized. “This is not a task we can accomplish alone. Over the years, our collaboration with maritime stakeholders like SIFAX has been vital in achieving our objectives.”
On behalf of the SIFAX Group Chairman, Group Coordinating Director, Mrs. Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, warmly welcomed the Naval delegation, emphasizing the longstanding mutual support between both parties. “SIFAX is home to all stakeholders in the maritime sector, including the Nigerian Navy. We value our partnership and look forward to further collaboration to improve maritime security and trade,” she said.
The visit served as a platform for Bothell parties to reaffirm their shared vision of fostering a secure maritime environment, essential for thriving business operations, logistics, and national economic growth. In response, the Nigerian Navy reiterated its commitment to maintaining vigilance in safeguarding Nigerian waters, while SIFAX Group pledged its continued support to the Navy’s mission.
