Access Bank has launched Season 17 of its flagship savings and reward scheme, DiamondXtra, reaffirming its commitment to deepening financial inclusion and transforming lives across Nigeria. The bank has earmarked over N228.7 million to reward 12,000 customers, tripling the number of beneficiaries from the previous season.
The launch event, which took place at the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, featured onsite draws that saw 165 customers walk away with instant cash rewards ranging from N5,000 to N100,000.
A major highlight of the new season is the return of the ‘Salary for Life’ initiative—a customer-favourite feature that awards selected winners N200,000 monthly for 15 years, amounting to N36 million per beneficiary.
“We are excited to bring back ‘Salary for Life’ following overwhelming demand from our customers,” said Adaeze Umeh, Unit Head, Consumer Banking at Access Bank.
“Winners will receive N200,000 monthly for the next fifteen years. This year, we’re also introducing digital cluster draws via the Access More app. Customers can generate referral codes and form groups of 50 to qualify for a N100,000 group prize.”
According to Umeh, 30 out of the 150 digital clusters have been reserved exclusively for women, in line with the bank’s commitment to female empowerment under its ‘W’ initiative.
Customer preferences continue to shape the direction of the DiamondXtra scheme. “When we asked what rewards they preferred this year, 40 percent voted for the return of ‘Salary for Life’, and we listened,” Umeh noted.
Access Bank will select three winners each quarter for the salary prize. To date, 131 customers have benefited from the initiative, and new winners will join this exclusive group.
“With over five million active DiamondXtra account holders, we aim to onboard **at least one million more by the end of 2025,” Umeh said. “But our goal isn’t just to grow numbers; it’s to deliver value—offering interest on savings, digital convenience, and life-changing rewards.”
Also speaking at the event, Olukemi Olayinka, Regional Sales Director at Access Bank, emphasized the wider social impact of the initiative.
“Today alone, we rewarded 165 customers, five of whom received N100,000 each. Since inception, over 33,000 families have benefitted from DiamondXtra. This is not just about prizes—it’s about improving lives.”
Olayinka highlighted that DiamondXtra now supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by providing business training, mentorship, and collateral-free loans of up to N10 million.
