In a move aimed at strengthening transparency and improving user access to vital market data, FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited (FMDQ Exchange), a wholly owned subsidiary of FMDQ Group PLC, has launched FMDQ Q-Pay—a secure and streamlined online payment gateway integrated into its e-Markets Portal.
The launch of Q-Pay represents a major step forward in the Exchange’s digital service delivery, offering subscribers a more efficient and secure way to access market data across Nigeria’s fixed income, currencies, and derivatives markets. The payment system allows users to preview the Portal’s functionalities before subscribing, ensuring transparency and building confidence in the platform.
According to the Managing Director of FMDQ Exchange, Ms. Tumi Sekoni, the introduction of Q-Pay is part of the Exchange’s broader commitment to innovation and inclusiveness in the capital market.
“The launch of FMDQ Q-Pay reinforces our commitment to transparency, liquidity, and information symmetry in the Nigerian capital markets. It reflects our continuous effort to deliver user-friendly solutions that improve market engagement and accessibility,” Sekoni said.
She added that the Exchange would continue to focus on deploying market infrastructure that empowers stakeholders through improved access, greater efficiency, and added value.
Q-Pay follows a recent restructuring of FMDQ’s market data services aimed at enhancing user experience and simplifying subscription processes. With its secure transaction capabilities, Q-Pay is expected to encourage broader participation in the market and support more timely, data-driven decisions by investors and analysts.
FMDQ Group PLC, Africa’s first vertically integrated financial market infrastructure group, provides a full suite of services including listing, trading, clearing, settlement, depository, and data dissemination across Nigeria’s debt, FX, equity, and derivatives markets. Its subsidiaries include FMDQ Exchange, FMDQ Clear, FMDQ Depository, and FMDQ Private Markets.
As part of its sustainability agenda, FMDQ also operates the FMDQ Green Exchange, Africa’s premier green securities platform, which is dedicated to supporting environmentally responsible financing.
With Q-Pay, FMDQ continues to position itself at the forefront of financial innovation, driving digital transformation and investor confidence in Nigeria’s capital market.
