In a major move to expand Nigeria’s industrial footprint on the global stage, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE has signed an exclusive partnership with Premier Product Marketing LLC, a Vinmar company, to distribute Dangote Polypropylene™ outside Nigeria and Africa.
The agreement aligns with the commencement of polypropylene production at Dangote’s world-class refinery and petrochemical complex in Lekki, Lagos State. The plant, which leverages INEOS’s INNOVENE technology, will supply high-quality polypropylene used across various sectors, including packaging, automotive, textiles, and construction.
“We’re pleased to partner with Vinmar to take Dangote Polypropylene™ to international markets,” said Hajiya Fatima Aliko Dangote, Group Executive Director (Commercial), Dangote Group. “This marks another significant step in making Dangote products global symbols of quality and reliability.”
Vinmar’s Chief Executive Officer, Vishal Goradia, also expressed optimism about the strategic alliance.
“Vinmar is proud to deepen our longstanding relationship with the Dangote Group. We’ve worked together in Nigeria for decades, and now we are excited to support the global launch of Dangote Polypropylene™,” Goradia said.
The petrochemical plant, valued at $2 billion, is located in the Ibeju-Lekki axis of Lagos. It is designed to produce 77 different grades of polypropylene, with an annual capacity of 900,000 metric tonnes and a projected turnover of $1.2 billion. The output is expected to cater to growing demand across global plastic processing industries.
