Nigeria Police Force has identified and summoned officers captured in a viral video extorting road users.
In the video, sighted by DAILY POST, the officers could be seen demanding five thousand naira from each motorist who said they were returning from a burial.
One of the officers collected the money from each of them, claiming that the five thousand naira was for five liters of fuel.
Reacting, the Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a post on Facebook that the officers have been summoned to the force headquarters for necessary action.
He wrote, “This action is totally condemned. The officers have been identified and summoned to the force headquarters for necessary action.
“We will not condone any act of indiscipline and unprofessionalism. We will update the public on our decisions as soon as possible. Thanks”.
