CANADIAN GOVERNMENT HONOURS CG ADENIYI OVER RECOVERY OF EXOTIC CARS, OTHERS .

The Royal Canadian mounted police (RCMP)International special services has commended the Nigerian custom service NCS under the leadership of the Controller General Wale Adeniyi for his relentless commitment to safeguarding borders and fighting transnational organised crime through strategic partnership and international driven operations. It will be recalled that a total of 65 stolen Canadian luxury vehicles were recovered in Nigeria within the last two months. The Canadian high commission in Nigeria his excellency Pasquale Salvaggio made this commendation reaffirming that it is an honour to both country’s efforts made possible through inter regional cooperation.
During his short visit to Nigeria Customs Service headquarters in Abuja, the high commissioner presented an award to Controller General Adeniyi for his sterling leadership in combating cross border crimes while also praising him for disrupting international crime syndicates. He also highlighted the recent interception of exotic vehicles with the street value of millions of dollars including the seizures of several kilograms of synthetic cannabis known as Laud smuggled from Canada into Nigeria through various ports and unapproved roures .

In his remarks, Adeniyi thanked the government of Canada and reaffirmed the Nigeria customs service dedication to international cooperation in combating illicit trade. According to him ” this recognition reflect the success of our collaborative approach “. The custom CG also remarked that as an active member of the world Custom organization ( WCO) Nigeria and Canada must deepen Custom collaboration globally to tackle modern crime effectively.
