Dangote Cement Plc has disbursed rewards valued at over ₦11 billion in cash, CNG trucks, and product-filled containers to its top-performing distributors and loyal customers at the 2025 edition of its Customers Awards & Gala Nite, held in Lagos.
Themed “Let’s Acceler8,” the annual event celebrated high-performing partners who played a pivotal role in cementing Dangote Cement’s dominance in Nigeria’s construction sector, where the company currently holds more than 57% market share.
In his keynote address, Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Cement and President of Dangote Industries Limited, lauded the distributors for their unwavering loyalty and performance amid challenging economic conditions.
“Your perseverance has ensured the availability of our products nationwide,” Dangote said. “This year’s theme is a rallying call for unity and growth as we work toward unmatched market leadership in 2025.”
He described the reward package—including new CNG trucks, thousands of product containers, and substantial cash prizes—as a token of appreciation for the distributors’ hard work and continued patronage throughout 2024.
“We are also honouring our corporate customers who have consistently selected our cement for major infrastructure and private sector projects. This partnership is the foundation of our market leadership and future growth,” Dangote added.
Speaking at the event, Arvind Pathak, Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement Plc, acknowledged the vital role distributors played in ensuring the widespread reach and availability of the company’s products across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
“The success we achieved in 2024 is a testament to your dedication and resilience,” he said. “To support your continued growth, we’ve distributed over 5,000 containers to retailers and plan to deploy 4,000 more this year.”
Pathak also highlighted the company’s sustainability efforts, revealing an ongoing transition of its logistics fleet from diesel to compressed natural gas (CNG) in line with Nigeria’s clean energy policies.
“We’re investing heavily in CNG trucks and the infrastructure to support them. So far, 3,100 CNG trucks are in active use. By the end of 2026, our entire 7,000-truck fleet will operate on CNG,” he noted.
To further incentivize performance and promote sustainable practices, selected distributors received brand-new CNG trucks as part of their reward packages.
Fatima Aliko Dangote, Group Executive Director of Commercial Operations at Dangote Industries, commended the distributors for their contributions to the company’s expansion and growing brand recognition.
“Your commitment has been instrumental in our growth. You are the backbone of our operations,” she stated, urging them to aim for even greater performance in 2025.
Awards were presented across several categories, including Regional Excellence, Growth Achievements, and Best Performing Customers, with the company reaffirming its commitment to long-term collaboration with its partners.
Dangote Cement Plc remains Africa’s largest cement producer and continues to play a critical role in Nigeria’s infrastructure development and industrial transformation.
