Fidelity Bank Plc has donated educational and hygiene supplies to students of Government Junior Secondary School, Elekahia, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as part of its ongoing commitment to education and youth development.
The donation, which included exercise books, pens, socks, footwear, sanitary pads, shaving sticks, and snacks, was delivered under the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP) and executed by newly inducted staff members known as the Suncrest 2025 Inductees Class.
Speaking during the presentation, the bank’s Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, said the initiative reflects Fidelity Bank’s long-standing commitment to social impact.
“We deliberately chose a public school because we understand the challenges many students face. Our goal is to not only support academic performance but also give students hope for a brighter future,” Nwagboh said.
According to him, the FHHP empowers staff to identify community needs, raise funds for impactful projects, and receive matching donations from the bank to implement them. The programme has supported schools across the country for over 15 years.
Present at the donation event were Osayi Uwumarongie, Team Lead, Human Resources and Business Partner (East and South); Victoria Abuka, Team Lead, CSR; and Euphemia Okereafor, Procurement Officer and Class President, Suncrest 2025 Inductees.
Receiving the donation, the school’s principal, Dr. Ekeh Florence, expressed gratitude to the bank, noting that it was the first time a corporate organization had made such a gesture to the school.
“These materials will significantly boost the morale and academic readiness of our students. We are truly grateful,” she said.
