Akabanga Lagos has secured exclusive distribution rights for Rwanda’s iconic Akabanga Chili Oil in the Nigerian market, following its 100% acquisition of Akabanga 4U Limited — a significant step in its West Africa expansion strategy.

Produced by renowned manufacturer Sina Gérard / Entreprise Urwibutso in Rwanda, Akabanga Chili Oil is a rich blend of yellow African habanero peppers, pure sunseed oil, and aromatic natural spices. Available in convenient 20 ml and 100 ml bottles, the chili oil is recognized for its deep, smoky flavor — adding a unique kick to both local and international cuisines.

With this new deal, Akabanga Lagos is poised to accelerate its reach across all 36 states of the country through an aggressive dealer mobilization campaign, making the chili oil more accessible to food lovers, restaurants, and hotels.

“Nigerians appreciate bold, rich, and spicy food, and Akabanga resonates perfectly with those preferences — adding depth and character to their favorite dishes with just a few drops,” said Temitope Mudabai, Founder of Akabanga Lagos. “This marks a dream come true for us. Having been passionate distributors for years, we’re proud to bring this flavor forward and make it a fixture in Nigerian kitchens. Fondly called ‘Rwanda’s little secret,’ we’re excited for more Nigerians to discover its magic.”

Sina Gérard, Founder and Managing Director of Entreprise Urwibutso, also described the collaboration as a significant opportunity. “Nigeria stands out as one of Africa’s largest consumer markets — renowned for its rich and diverse cuisines. We’re delighted to collaborate with Akabanga Lagos to bring our chili oil to a new generation of food lovers. We’re confident it will feel right at home in Nigerian kitchens.”

Akabanga Lagos plans to leverage its extensive distribution network and strategic partnerships to make Akabanga Chili Oil a staple in homes, restaurants, and food service establishments across the country.
