Samer Chedid, previously Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Indonesia, has been appointed to lead Nestlé’s operations in Central and West Africa (CWAR), following the departure of Mauricio Alarcón, who moves into another role within the group.

Chedid, a veteran business leader with extensive experience across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, is no stranger to the region — having previously led Nestlé’s operations in Ghana — and is poised to guide its transformation across 25 markets.

Speaking on his new role, Chedid said: “I am delighted to return to a region that has been a significant part of my career within the Nestlé Group. Together with our resilient team of over 5,000 employees, I will continue to drive our purpose forward through innovation, high-caliber product offerings, and meaningful partnerships. Our aim is not only to grow our business but also to make a measurable, positive contribution to the livelihoods of our communities and protect our environment.”

Chedid’s career trajectory underscores his strong leadership, strategic thinking, and passion for developing high-performing teams. He first began his Nestlé journey in 1998 as a Sales Development Manager, later serving as Head of Channel Category Sales Development for the Middle East region. Subsequently, he held the role of General Business Manager in Bahrain, Qatar, and Dubai, Country Manager for Nestlé Ghana, Middle East Region Sales Director, Country Manager for Saudi Arabia, and eventually Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Pakistan.
