Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has been named Aviation Groundbreaking Handling Company of the Year by Transport Day Media, reaffirming its position as a leading force in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
The award was presented during the Transport Day Annual Lecture and Awards Ceremony held on Thursday, June 19, at the Radisson BLU Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. The event celebrated top performers across the transportation sector for their contributions to sustainability and service excellence.
Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Transport Day Media, Mr. Frank Kintum, commended NAHCO’s consistent performance and brand strength over the years. “NAHCO is a company the Nigerian aviation community should be proud of. Its resilience and continued impact in the sector set it apart,” he said.
The recognition follows a string of accolades for NAHCO in 2024, including the Champion of the Industry Award from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Aviation Handling Company of the Year from Air Transport Quarterly.
Speaking on the award, Dr. Sola Obabori, Group Executive Director, Corporate Services at NAHCO, described it as a testament to the company’s hard work and relevance in the sector. “This recognition is well deserved. Everyone in the industry understands the critical role NAHCO plays in aviation services,” Obabori stated.
He noted that 2024 was a strong year for the company, with operational achievements laying a solid foundation for 2025. He also pointed to NAHCO’s growing commitment to sustainability, highlighting initiatives such as reducing ground vehicle idling time, implementing energy-efficient procedures, and deploying technologies to streamline handling operations.
“Our goal is to deliver world-class aviation services while reducing our environmental footprint,” he said. “This award reflects our team’s dedication to excellence and sustainability.”
The Transport Day recognition further cements NAHCO’s leadership in Nigeria’s ground handling space, as the company continues to push innovation and environmental responsibility at the core of its operations.
