In a moment that underscores the growing convergence between enterprise protection and economic growth, Leadway Assurance has been unveiled as the Official Insurance Partner for the 2025 Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF)—West Africa’s largest commercial and trade exhibition.
The formal announcement was made at a signing ceremony on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, held at Commerce House, headquarters of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Victoria Island. In attendance were key figures from both organizations: Juliet Okon, Head of Alternative Channels and High Net-worth Clients at Leadway; Gabriel Idahosa, President of LCCI; Kike Fischer, Director of Sales, Retail and Partnerships at Leadway; and Sola Oluwadare, Head of Trade Promotion at LCCI.
The 2025 edition of the fair, scheduled to run from Friday, November 7 to Sunday, November 16, will once again hold at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, bringing together over 1,600 companies from Nigeria and across the globe.
Why Leadway?
According to LCCI officials, the choice of Leadway Assurance as the insurance partner for this year’s fair wasn’t arbitrary—it was a deliberate decision rooted in performance, trust, and the company’s consistent demonstration of financial strength and public engagement.
“Leadway stood out,” said Sola Oluwadare, who leads LCCI’s trade promotion activities. “In choosing a partner, we weren’t just looking for a big name. We wanted a company with a proven track record, one that truly understands what it means to support businesses—especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)—through good times and bad.”
Over the past few years, Leadway Assurance has positioned itself not only as a financial institution but also as a partner in growth for thousands of businesses. Its widely recognized #NoLooseGuard campaign has helped reshape how Nigerians view insurance—from a safety net to a strategic asset for sustainability and recovery.
Kike Fischer, speaking on behalf of Leadway, echoed this sentiment:
“This partnership speaks volumes about the confidence the LCCI has in us—and it speaks volumes about what we believe in. At Leadway, we view insurance as an enabler of economic progress. By partnering with the Lagos International Trade Fair, we’re reaffirming our commitment to supporting MSMEs and helping them grow in a secure and confident environment.”
Building Trust Through Service
Leadway’s credibility has been strengthened by its financial performance in recent years. In 2024 alone, the company posted ₦173.2 billion in insurance revenue and ₦117 billion in claims payouts, underscoring its capacity to fulfill obligations and support customers when it matters most.
What also impressed the LCCI was the insurer’s leadership in customer service and media engagement. Leadway maintained the highest Media Share of Voice among Nigerian insurance companies for six consecutive months in the first half of 2025, reflecting its growing influence and resonance with both business owners and everyday Nigerians.
The Bigger Picture: Insurance as Economic Infrastructure
For the LCCI, choosing Leadway also signals a strategic move to deepen the conversation around insurance as a pillar of economic stability. With Nigeria’s economic terrain still unpredictable for many small businesses, integrating insurance into mainstream trade and enterprise culture is seen as critical.
“Insurance is no longer optional—it’s essential,” said Gabriel Idahosa, LCCI President. “We wanted a partner who understands that. Leadway doesn’t just sell policies—they advocate for a shift in mindset. That’s the kind of thought leadership we need at an event as influential as the Lagos International Trade Fair.”
Looking Ahead
As preparations for the November event gain momentum, stakeholders say the partnership between Leadway and LCCI marks a turning point. It’s not just about who insures the fair—it’s about who supports the future of Nigerian businesses.
With booths, exhibitions, and policy conversations lined up for the 10-day event, Leadway is expected to engage directly with entrepreneurs, offering insights into risk management, business continuity, and financial planning.
For Leadway Assurance, the 2025 Lagos International Trade Fair is more than a showcase. It’s a reaffirmation of a legacy built on trust—and a future anchored in shared growth.
“We’re proud to stand beside Nigeria’s entrepreneurs,” Fischer concluded. “Because when they win, the entire economy wins—and that’s the real policy we believe in.”
