Nestlé Ghana Ltd. has appointed Mrs. Salomé Azevedo as its new Managing Director, marking a significant leadership transition in the company’s West African operations.
Azevedo brings over 20 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, including a remarkable 15 years focused on driving commercial growth across sub-Saharan Africa. Before her new role, she led Nestlé’s Dairy, Beverages, and Confectionery business, overseeing operations in 25 countries across the continent.
Now based in Accra, Azevedo is expected to steer the company’s operations across Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with a focus on product innovation, sustainable development, and community empowerment.
“This role is more than a title — it’s a mission to deepen our engagement with local communities and deliver products that nourish and uplift,” Azevedo said in a statement.
Her appointment reflects Nestlé’s commitment to promoting leadership that is both inclusive and aligned with regional realities. Azevedo is known for combining strong business acumen with a people-centered leadership approach, and she is widely credited for driving performance while maintaining a focus on social impact.
Under her leadership, Nestlé Ghana is expected to strengthen its role in providing quality nutrition and supporting initiatives that improve lives across the region.
The Talented Women Network, which highlighted Azevedo’s appointment, described it as a step forward for women in leadership and a signal of continuity with a fresh drive for impact.
Her transition into the role comes at a time when multinational companies are placing greater emphasis on local leadership and sustainable growth in emerging markets.
Azevedo now leads a team focused on delivering trusted brands, advancing Nestlé’s commitment to nutrition, and creating long-term value for communities in West Africa.
