Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc has reported a strong financial performance for the first half of 2025, recording a revenue of N430.21 billion, representing a 45.53% increase from the N295.62 billion posted in the same period last year.

According to the company’s unaudited financial statement published on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) portal, revenue for the second quarter alone rose by 25%, hitting N216.28 billion, up from N172.90 billion in Q2 2024.

The company also returned to profitability during the period under review, posting a pre-tax profit of N523.8 million in Q2 2025. This marks a significant turnaround from the N104.5 billion loss recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2024.

Dangote Sugar Refinery, a leading player in Nigeria’s sugar industry, is engaged in refining, distributing, and marketing granulated sugar to the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and skincare industries, as well as wholesalers.

The company operates a 1.44 million metric tonnes (MT) sugar refining facility in Apapa, Lagos, and a 50,000 MT plant in Numan, Adamawa State, bringing its total installed refining capacity to 1.49 million MT per annum.

In line with its long-term strategy, Dangote Sugar has sustained investment in its Backward Integration Programme (BIP) aimed at reducing reliance on imported raw sugar. It currently controls 47,364 hectares of sugarcane plantation, with a medium-term goal of producing 1.5 million MT of refined sugar annually from locally grown cane.

The latest results signal improved operational efficiency and a renewed focus on domestic capacity, as the company positions itself to meet Nigeria’s growing demand for refined sugar and support national self-sufficiency targets.
