Solanke, Adebayo Take Helm as 38th ICAN Ikeja Chairman, Secretary

The Ikeja District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has officially inaugurated Mr. Jacob Olutayo Solanke, FCA, as its 38th Chairman, alongside Mr. Peter Adebayo, FCA, as General Secretary.

The investiture ceremony, held in Lagos, drew notable figures from Nigeria’s accounting and finance sectors, celebrating the leadership transition within one of ICAN’s most active and influential districts.

In his address, Mr. Solanke pledged to focus on professional development, ethical leadership, and greater member engagement. “This moment is not just about leadership, but about responsibility, continuity, and transformation,” he said.

Mr. Adebayo, the new General Secretary, affirmed the executive’s commitment to transparency and innovation, adding that the team will work to enhance the district’s role within the broader ICAN community.

The outgoing executives were commended for their service, especially in advancing training programmes and fostering strong industry collaboration.

ICAN Ikeja District Society plays a pivotal role in promoting excellence among chartered accountants and remains a hub for professional growth in Nigeria. The new leadership is expected to build on this foundation and drive the district into a new phase of impact and relevance.
