Chooose, a leading climate-tech software company, has partnered with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to integrate IATA’s CO2 Connect emissions data into its platform. The move aims to give airlines better tools to deliver accurate carbon emissions information to travelers and corporate clients.
Through this integration, airlines using the Chooose platform to manage their Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) programs can now access and share IATA’s emissions data—powered by real operational inputs from over 70 airlines. The data is aligned with global standards including IATA RP 1726 and ISO 14083.
According to IATA’s April 2024 survey, 40% of travelers, especially business passengers, regularly check flight-related emissions. With this growing demand for transparency, the partnership enables airlines and corporate travel managers to offer reliable, flight-specific emissions estimates.
“For years, Chooose has helped travel companies and airlines estimate emissions for SAF programs and customer tools,” said Joseph Beaudin, CEO of Chooose. “Now, with IATA CO2 Connect, our partners gain access to a top-tier dataset that improves continuously as more airlines report real-world data.”
More than 30 global airline partners of Chooose will now have the option to integrate IATA’s emissions data into their reporting systems, reinforcing IATA’s goal of making reliable emissions data widely accessible.
“IATA CO2 Connect is the only travel emissions calculator based on actual airline operational data,” said Frederic Leger, IATA’s Senior Vice President of Commercial Products & Services. “Partnering with Chooose helps us expand access to accurate data for smarter travel decisions.”
Chooose is also a member of the IATA Strategic Partnerships Program and plays an active role in shaping sustainability standards and supporting aviation’s decarbonization efforts.
The integration marks a significant step forward in helping the industry, and its passengers, make more informed, climate-conscious choices.
