Abeokuta played host to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Annual Fair at the DLD Event Centre, drawing stakeholders from across the financial and public sectors to promote financial literacy and deepen economic inclusion.

The event, coordinated by the CBN Abeokuta Branch and led by Branch Controller Malik Ademola Ololade, featured commercial banks, microfinance institutions, fintech companies, security agencies, academics, and government ministries. It served as a platform to enlighten Nigerians on the apex bank’s policies, programs, and intervention initiatives.

In his welcome remarks, Ololade stressed the importance of transparency and stakeholder collaboration in achieving the CBN’s mandate. He encouraged participants to seize the opportunity to learn more about the bank’s initiatives while also experiencing Abeokuta’s cultural heritage, from the iconic Olumo Rock to the city’s traditional delicacies.

Goodwill messages from representatives of the Ogun State Government, the National Association of Microfinance Banks, and industry leaders commended the CBN for its sustained efforts in supporting businesses, promoting financial access, and empowering communities.

The fair reaffirmed the CBN’s role not just as a regulator but as an active partner in driving grassroots development and equipping Nigerians with the tools to thrive in today’s economy.
