The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has announced that Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and past Chairman of the NCDMB Governing Council, will headline the third-quarter edition of its Business Mentorship Lecture Series (BMLS).
The event is scheduled for Monday, September 8, 2025, at 10 a.m., and will be streamed live via Zoom Webinar and the NCDMB’s YouTube channel. Richmond Osuji, a respected compere in the oil and gas sector, will serve as moderator.
According to Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, General Manager, Corporate Communications at NCDMB, the lecture series was launched in 2019 under Section 67 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act of 2010. It is designed to strengthen capacity among service and operating companies in the sector through mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and business advisory support from seasoned industry leaders.

An accomplished scholar, Dr. Kachikwu is a first-class law graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and emerged as the overall best student at the Nigerian Law School, where he won multiple awards, including the prestigious Chief T.O. Elias Prize. He later earned a Master of Laws (LLM) from Harvard Law School, graduating top of his class. He has authored four books on Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, launched in 2021.
On the international stage, he has served as President of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). His leadership excellence has earned him multiple honors, including the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Lifetime Achievement Award (2022).
