Nigeria’s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) sector has recorded another breakthrough as Onedot Aviation successfully completed a two-year check on a CRJ 200 aircraft belonging to XEJET—in less than two weeks.
The record turnaround, coming just weeks after a similar heavy maintenance check on another XEJET CRJ 200, underscores Onedot’s emergence as a leading force in aircraft maintenance and a symbol of Nigeria’s growing aviation self-reliance.
From nose to tail, the aircraft underwent rigorous inspections and system checks before earning its Certificate of Release to Service, authorizing it to return to commercial operations. Industry analysts say the achievement not only reflects engineering excellence but also marks a significant shift in reducing Nigerian airlines’ reliance on costly foreign facilities for heavy maintenance.
Onedot Aviation’s Chief Executive Officer, Captain Dotun Henry Ogunyemi, described the milestone as proof of the company’s commitment to world-class standards.
“Completing another 2-year check on the CRJ 200 for XEJET in such a short period is a testament to our team’s dedication and the robust processes we have in place,” Ogunyemi said. “Our goal is to give Nigerian operators the confidence that they can save time, save costs, and still maintain the highest safety standards locally.”
Industry watchers note that Onedot’s achievement is more than a technical success—it is a statement of intent. With expanded approvals from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) covering the Bombardier Challenger and CRJ series, the company is positioning itself as a maintenance powerhouse in West Africa, unlocking opportunities for growth and boosting the regional aviation ecosystem.
For XEJET, the swift delivery translates into reduced downtime, increased flying hours, and improved operational efficiency. For Onedot Aviation, it is another milestone on its journey to reshape the future of aircraft maintenance in Nigeria and beyond.
