Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its sweeping influence on marketing workflows will dominate discourse at the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) Annual Conference, slated for Thursday, November 28, 2025, at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Themed “Artificial Intelligence and Marketing Workflow: Opportunities and Challenges,” the forum is set to convene a diverse mix of business leaders, regulators, academics, brand custodians, integrated marketing communications (IMC) professionals, and journalists to deliberate on how AI is redefining the marketing ecosystem in Nigeria and beyond.

According to BJAN Chairman, Mr. Daniel Obi, the decision to focus this year’s dialogue on AI reflects the urgency of the times.

“Artificial Intelligence is no longer futuristic, it is a present-day reality that is transforming industries, economies, and consumer engagement globally. For stakeholders in advertising, banking, telecoms, and IMC, attending this conference is not just an option, but a necessity,” Obi stated.

Among the distinguished guest speakers is Cherry Eromosele, Executive Vice President, Group Marketing & Corporate Communications at Interswitch Group, who will provide insights into AI-driven strategies for consumer engagement. Also on the lineup is Folajimi Daodu, CEO of Vault Hills, known for his thought leadership in leveraging technology for innovative branding.

Adding a regulatory perspective, Mr. Lekan Fadolapo, Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), will present a keynote address titled “AI and Advertising Regulation in the Digital Age: Challenges and Opportunities.”

A high-powered panel session featuring eminent voices in technology, advertising, and consumer markets will further explore the practical and ethical dimensions of AI adoption.

Conference Chair and Attendees

The conference will be chaired by Mr. Udeme Ufot, Group Chief Executive Officer of SO&U, who brings decades of experience in the advertising industry. Attendance is expected from stakeholders across the advertising, telecommunications, banking, and consumer goods sectors, as well as academics, policy experts, and media professionals.

Why the Forum Matters

Mr. Obi emphasized that the conference aims to strike a balance between AI’s promise and its risks:

“The conversation will address how AI tools can optimize marketing, while also tackling the ethical concerns, regulatory challenges, and the human element in decision-making. The goal is to prepare Nigerian businesses for an AI-driven future while ensuring accountability, creativity, and inclusivity remain at the core of marketing.”

He added that the forum would provide participants with practical insights, capacity-building opportunities, and networking platforms to stay ahead in a rapidly changing digital economy.

As AI continues to reshape global industries, the BJAN Annual Conference is positioned to be a thought-leadership hub that ensures Nigeria’s marketing and communications sector is not left behind.

The Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) will host its 2025 Annual Conference on November 28 in Lagos, focusing on Artificial Intelligence and marketing workflows.
