The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Nigerian Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, will deliver the keynote address at the 2025 National Annual Conference of the Finance and Business Online Publishers (FiBOP), where he is expected to outline transformative policies and reforms to drive Nigeria’s journey towards a $1 trillion economy by 2030.

The two-day conference, themed “Achieving a $1 Trillion Economy: Leveraging Technology Innovations, Tax Reforms, and Opportunities in Renewable Energy, Agriculture, and Financial Services,” will be held from October 18 to 19, 2025, at Orchid Hotels, Lekki, Lagos.

Uniting Stakeholders for Growth

The FiBOP Conference has become one of Nigeria’s leading platforms for national economic dialogue, bringing together technocrats, policymakers, captains of industry, academics, and stakeholders across sectors to explore strategies for accelerated growth and sustainable development.

This year’s event is already attracting significant institutional support, with confirmed sponsorships from the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), emPLE Insurance Limited, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Polaris Bank, Zenith Bank, Fidelity Bank, Universal Insurance, and Nestlé Nigeria Plc. These organizations are expected to contribute to shaping actionable solutions that will move Nigeria closer to the trillion-dollar economy target.

Edun’s Economic Outlook

Mr. Edun, who has consistently emphasized the importance of a stable financial system, is expected to highlight how fiscal reforms, domestic savings, and investment in critical sectors can create sustainable wealth for millions of Nigerians.

“Domestic savings are the engine of sustainable investment,” he said in a recent policy forum. “A trusted and stable financial system, anchored by strong institutions, is essential to lifting millions out of poverty and driving Nigeria’s transition to a $1 trillion economy.”

Aligning with Renewed Hope Agenda

The 2025 FiBOP Conference strongly aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to diversify the economy beyond oil dependence while deepening opportunities in technology, renewable energy, agriculture, insurance, and services.

Deliberations will focus on practical solutions to boost tax reforms, foster innovation, strengthen renewable energy adoption, and expand agricultural productivity—critical areas seen as catalysts for achieving inclusive growth and national prosperity.

Conference Organizers’ Call to Action

Mr. Charles Onwuatogwu, President of FiBOP, has urged more institutions and companies to partner with the association to support the government’s wealth creation agenda. He assured sponsors of extensive benefits, including strategic publicity, media exposure, and branding opportunities throughout the conference.

“FiBOP is committed to promoting balanced, fact-based reporting of economic events and activities,” Onwuatogwu said. “Our annual conference serves as a vital platform where stakeholders can share ideas and solutions that will shape Nigeria’s economic destiny.”
