The Nigerian Customs service NCS has raised alarm over recruitment syndicates currently issuing employment letters to unsuspecting Nigerians. The Nigerian Custom Service NCS through its official social media handle the Twitter disownes any appointment purportedly issued by them as the recruitment process is still ongoing. It will be recalled that the Nigerian Customs is yet conclude its recruitment excise which kicked off earlier this year.
In another development, the Federal Operation Unit FOU zone One has vowed to scale up its operations along major corridors and border communities within the south west coast. The Controller of the unit Mohammed Shaibu read the riot act as the Command intercepted trucks laden with foreign Parboiled rice as part of his renewed effort to stop the influx of prohibited items into the country. This according to the Custom boss is not only to enforce trade laws but also to help safeguard Nigeria food security and to shore up revenue base. According to him, the items confiscated include 5.015 bags of 50kg foreign Parboiled rice, 15 foreign used vehicles , 640 parcels of cannabis sativa weighing 431.8kg, 460 jerrycan of premium motor oil PMS,143 bales of used clothing, 390 bottles of codeine, 310 branded drugs, 19 cards of tramadol, 210 pieces of used tyres and one twenty Footer container which was intercepted for false declaration, he said.
