In a major step toward advancing Nigeria’s aviation and aerospace development agenda, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, has secured the unwavering support of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration for the successful hosting of the Nigeria International Airshow 2025, scheduled to take place in Abuja from December 2 to 4, 2025.

During a high-level working visit to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, H.E. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, earlier today, Keyamo led a powerful delegation from the Ministry of Aviation to seek strategic collaboration ahead of the global aviation event, which is poised to make history as Nigeria’s first-ever international airshow.

The Minister’s delegation included senior officials and heads of key aviation institutions — the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), the Director-General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), the Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), the Registrar of the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), and the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria International Airshow.

Speaking during the meeting, Keyamo explained that the Nigeria International Airshow 2025 would serve as a major platform to showcase the country’s growing aviation potential, attract investment in aviation and aerospace technology, and position Nigeria as a central hub for air transport development in Africa. He further emphasized that the airshow would provide opportunities for stakeholders — including aircraft manufacturers, regulators, investors, and training institutions — to engage in partnerships that will drive innovation and capacity building in the industry.

“Our vision is to make Nigeria a key player in global aviation. The upcoming airshow in Abuja will not only spotlight our capabilities but also enhance foreign investment, trade, and tourism within the FCT and across Nigeria,” Keyamo stated.

The Minister also sought the support of the FCT Administration in areas such as logistics coordination, security arrangements, traffic management, infrastructure facilitation, and city beautification to ensure that the event meets international standards.

In response, Minister Wike warmly welcomed the initiative and pledged the full cooperation of the FCT Administration. He described the airshow as a landmark event that aligns with the federal government’s vision of diversifying the economy and enhancing Nigeria’s international profile.

“Abuja is ready to host the world,” Wike affirmed. “We will ensure the FCT provides every necessary support to make the Nigeria International Airshow 2025 a resounding success. This is not just an aviation event — it’s a national project that showcases the best of Nigeria.”

With preparations now in full gear, the Nigeria International Airshow 2025 is expected to draw global participants from the aviation, aerospace, defense, and technology sectors. The event promises to deliver high-level exhibitions, live flight demonstrations, and networking sessions that will reinforce Nigeria’s position as a leading aviation hub in Africa.

The collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the FCT Administration reflects the government’s renewed commitment to driving economic growth through strategic partnerships, infrastructure enhancement, and human capacity development in the aviation sector.
