Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to human capital development and technological advancement through the successful completion of two major capacity-building initiatives in collaboration with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
The two projects — the remodeling and equipping of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre at Baptist High School, Port Harcourt, and the close-out ceremony of the Human Capacity Development (HCD) Basic Training Programme — underscore NLNG’s long-term vision of investing in education, youth empowerment, and sustainable industry growth.
The ICT Centre project, fully refurbished and fitted with modern computer systems, internet connectivity, and learning resources, is aimed at fostering digital inclusion among secondary school students. This aligns with NLNG’s drive to bridge the technological gap and nurture the next generation of innovators equipped with critical 21st-century skills.
Similarly, the HCD Basic Training Programme, implemented in partnership with NCDMB, focused on enhancing technical and vocational skills among young Nigerians, preparing them for meaningful roles in the energy and industrial sectors. The programme trained hundreds of participants in specialized areas relevant to Nigeria’s evolving economic landscape.
Speaking at the event, representatives of both organizations highlighted the importance of continuous investment in people as a catalyst for national development. They emphasized that by empowering young Nigerians with digital and technical expertise, the country can build a self-reliant and globally competitive workforce.
NLNG’s General Manager for External Relations and Sustainable Development reaffirmed the company’s belief that education and capacity development remain central to sustainable progress. “At NLNG, we see human capital as the cornerstone of national transformation. Through our partnership with NCDMB, we are creating opportunities that will define the future of Nigeria’s energy and industrial sectors,” he stated.
On his part, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB commended NLNG for its consistent collaboration and contribution to Nigerian Content goals, stressing that such initiatives align with the Board’s mandate to grow local capacity and ensure inclusive participation in the oil and gas value chain.
The dual events in Port Harcourt mark another milestone in NLNG’s long-standing tradition of corporate citizenship and its commitment to improving lives sustainably through education, technology, and industry empowerment.
NLNG and NCDMB have completed two major capacity-building projects in Port Harcourt — an ICT centre at Baptist High School and the Human Capacity Development (HCD) Basic Training Programme — reaffirming their shared commitment to youth empowerment, education, and technological advancement in Nigeria.
