The Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has generated an impressive ₦350.3 billion in revenue for the Federal Government between January and September 2025, underscoring its commitment to fiscal responsibility and trade compliance.
The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Joe Anani, disclosed this on Friday, October 24, 2025, in Lagos. He revealed that the figure represents 96.64% of the total ₦362.5 billion revenue collected by the Command for the entire 2024 fiscal year, showing remarkable consistency in revenue performance.
According to Comptroller Anani, the Command’s third-quarter performance alone stood at ₦116.24 billion, marking a 34.3% increase over the ₦86.58 billion collected in the same quarter of 2024. He attributed the sustained growth to improved operational efficiency and the resilience of officers in overcoming challenges associated with the B’Odogwu Customs platform.
“Our revenue growth reflects our unwavering commitment to national economic development despite operational constraints. We remain focused on enhancing trade facilitation while upholding the integrity of our processes,”

Anti-Smuggling Success: ₦200 Million Worth of Unregistered Medicines Seized
Beyond revenue collection, the Command intensified its anti-smuggling operations, resulting in the interception of two containers of unregistered pharmaceutical products and dangerous items falsely declared to evade scrutiny.
Among the seizures were:
- 1×20ft container (GCNU1275880) falsely declared as supermarket items but found to contain assorted pharmaceutical drugs.
- 1×40ft container (ACLU9806850) falsely declared as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) apparatus, which upon 100% physical examination, was discovered to hold 6,262 cartons of antibiotics of various brands.
- One WE Tactical Airsoft pistol (made in Taiwan), two magazines, and 12 rounds of live ammunition concealed within the shipment.
The combined value of the seized items is estimated at over ₦200 million.
In accordance with the Customs–NAFDAC collaboration directive under the leadership of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, Comptroller Anani formally handed over the seized items to Dr. Olakunle Olaniran, Director of the Port Inspectorate Division, NAFDAC.

He further warned Nigerians to avoid purchasing unregistered medicines, particularly antibiotics and hypertension drugs without valid NAFDAC registration numbers, emphasizing that such products pose serious health risks.
Comptroller Anani reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to promoting lawful trade, stakeholder cooperation, and public safety through intelligence sharing and inter-agency collaboration.

The PTML Command continues to play a vital role in boosting Nigeria’s non-oil revenue and strengthening border integrity through its dual focus on revenue generation and enforcement of trade laws.
PTML Customs generates ₦350.3 billion revenue from January–September 2025, intercepts ₦200 million worth of unregistered medicines, and hands over seized drugs to NAFDAC in Lagos. Comptroller Joe Anani reaffirms zero tolerance for smuggling and commitment to national security.
